Mr. Tattoo's Aftercare Instructions

1. Remove bandage(s) as son as you get home (or after 1 hour) and wash off all blood and ointment.

2. Using your fingertips, gently wash our tattoo in LUKEWARM water and Soft *N* Soapy Foaming Cleanser.

3. Rinse completely and gently pat tattoo area dry with a clean paper towel and air dry for 15 minutes. Dab off any excess blood with paper towel.

4. Apply a SMALL amount of Sweet *N* Silky Tattoo Aftercare Lotion to the tattooed area and gently rub into the skin until fully absorbed. Use just enough to  make the area slightly shiny and moist.

5. Repeat 2 to 3 times a day or whenever your tattoo gets dirty for the next 2 weeks.

6. In 5 to 7 days, the tattoo will begin to itch and peel. During that time, apply Sweet *N* Silky Tattoo Aftercare Lotion to the tattoo whenever the tattoo feels tight and dry.

RECOMMENDED

- ALWAYS wash your hands before touching or washing your tattoo

- Do NOT pick at or scratch your tattoo or any scabs; this can cause ink to fall out and leave you with a blotchy tattoo.

- AVOID submerging your tattoo (baths, pools, hot tubs, oceans, lakes, etc.) and long showers (more than 15 minutes), saunas, sun block, and direct sunlight.

Your tattoo should be done peeling in 2 week and be fully healed in 4 weeks.

- One free touch up is available to you up to 6 months from the date you got your tattoo. Call to schedule your touch up.

Mr. Tattoo's SANIDERM Aftercare Instructions

ABOUT SANIDERM

Saniderm is a type of medical adhesive that locks in the body's natural moisture and enzymes, allowing the body to heal itself in the most efficient manner possible. When an injury occurs, the skin produces healing elements that help break down dead tissue and rebuild new tissue. Under normal circumstances, these healing elements dry up and evaporate, reducing their effectiveness. Saniderm locks in these healing elements and prevents them from evaporating, allowing the skin to function as normal. In addition, Saniderm protects against dirt and grime while eliminating friction and other irritants that might further interfere with the healing process. The first piece of Saniderm can be left on your new tattoo for 3 to 5 days if it does not become breeched ( the edges of the Saniderm are no longer firmly in place and air and fluids can get to your tattoo).

SANIDERM REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

At the 3 to 5 day mark, or sooner if breeched, remove the Saniderm. We recommend doing so in a warm shower as the heat will help loosen the adhesive on the bandage. Find an edge of the bandage and pulling it back over itself in the direction of the hair growth (Pulling upward can be painful and we don't recommend it.).

Once the Saniderm is removed, take care of your tattoo as normal. See the above instructions for our recommended care.

WHAT TO EXPECT

- Fluid, mostly plasma, will collect under the Saniderm, often looking similar to 'soy sauce'. This is normal and part of what helps your new tattoo heal.

- If you notice excessive weeping or fluid under the Saniderm, we are happy to replace it with a new piece for you.

- Curling or peeling corners can be removed, trimmed, or rounded to reduce the likelihood of the bandage becoming unstuck. When trimming your Saniderm, make sure there is till a sealed barrier around the circumference of your tattoo.

- Saniderm is relatively waterproof and can stay on your skin even when immersed in water so you are able to shower with it in place. Prolonged exposure to water should be avoided as it can weaken the adhesion.

Mr. Tattoo'S piercing Aftercare Instructions

1. Leave your new jewelry in to avoid any complications during the healing process. Do not twist, touch, turn, or rotate your jewelry; this causes more damage and slows the healing. Do not touch your piercing with dirty hands, this is the number one cause of infection in new piercings.

2. 1 to 2 times a day, preferably at the end of your shower, WITH CLEAN HANDS, squeeze a dime-sized amount of non-scented, anti-microbial soup (preferably Hibiclens) into the palm of your hand and use your CLEAN fingers or a CLEAN cotton swab (Q-tip) to gently clean your jewelry and surrounding area.

3. Let the soap sit on the area for 5 to 10 seconds.

4. Rinse the entire area thoroughly, any remaining soup residue may irritate your skin and new piercing.

DO NOT

- touch dirty bedding or clothes, pet hair, or other people's bodily fluids with your new piercing

- expose your new piercing or jewelry to any bodies of water other than in your shower

- use a washcloth or loofah near your piercing(s); they may snag jewelry and cause damage

- get soap INSIDE your piercing

- use soaps containing perfumes, dyes, or Triclosan as an active ingredient; they tend to irritate healing piercings

- clean your piercing more than 1 to 2 times daily; overusing soaps can strip your skin of its natural oils which aid in healing

- get cosmetics, facial cleansers, tanning oils, lotions, hair sprays, gel, acne medications, or similar products on your piercing(s) or jewelry

use products I have not recommended, i.e., Neosporin, Hydrogen Peroxide, Alcohol, Betadine, Bactine, Witch Hazel, salves, astringents, antibiotic ointments, etc.

- change your jewelry before your piercing(s) has healed; it is a good idea to come back in and let us change out the jewelry for the first time

WHAT TO EXPECT

- piercings may be itchy, tender, or bruised for the first few weeks

- new piercings may bleed a little for the first few days

- may be red and redness may continue on and off for the duration of he healing process

- piercing(s) may secrete a white or yellowish fluid which may 'crust' on your jewelry; DO NOT PICK AT THIS, it is normal and will stop when the piercing is healed

- piercing may swell; an ice pack wrapped in a lean paper towel and applied to the swollen area will help alleviate discomfort

- check periodically that any threaded jewelry is still tight; "righty-tighty, lefty-loosey"

- in 3 to 4 weeks, after swelling has subsided, come see Brian for a free consultation to see if your jewelry needs to be downsized or adjusted
